Radu Puchiu is a leading voice at the intersection of technology, governance, and civic innovation. With a decade of high-level public sector experience, he has played a pivotal role in Romania’s digital transformation—shaping national strategies, coordinating public policy at the heart of government, and representing the country on the international stage. As Romania’s National Point of Contact for the Open Government Partnership and a member of its global Steering Committee, Radu has been a tireless advocate for transparency, open data, and citizen engagement.
A designer by training and a strategist by vocation, Radu brings a unique blend of creativity and systems thinking to his work. He is a graduate of the Oxford Internet Institute’s Internet Leadership Academy, a member of the Open Data Leaders Network, and was named one of the New Europe 100 innovation leaders by Google and Financial Times. Today, he continues to champion democratic innovation as Director of the Technology and Society Program at the Aspen Institute Romania and serves as an OGP Envoy—helping governments around the world build more open, responsive institutions.
